Make the switch to Farmers in five easy steps:

It’s never been easier to switch banks.

Step 1: Open your Farmers checking account
This is the first step in what is sure to be a great partnership! Also, be sure to ask for your debit card.

Step 2: Discontinue using your previous account
Let all outstanding checks or purchases from your past account clear, which might take up to 10 days. Please destroy any unused checks, deposit slips, ATM or debit cards from your previous bank.

Step 3: Switch your direct deposits
Have a Farmers Associate help guide you through switching direct deposits from your previous financial institution or getting a new direct deposit started. Once established, your direct deposit will be automatically deposited in your account.

Step 4: Change your automatic withdrawals and payments
Remember to change your automatic payments and withdrawals over to your new Farmers account. Don’t forget any payments that use your past debit card number.

Step 5: Close your previous account
Once direct deposits start coming to your Farmers checking account and all checks have cleared your past account, contact your previous bank to close your account. Your previous financial institution will issue a check for the remaining balance in your account.
